Created by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, Six presents the story as a singing contest in which each wife must tell their stories to the audience. The show begins as each woman introduces themselves through the performance of a song. Only the bride who had to suffer the most can win the title of the band's lead singer. Despite fighting among themselves, the brides finally decide they can no longer let this man define them. By the conclusion they sing together as a cohesive team.

"Six" is the tale of the lives of the wives of King Henry the 8th, who was an infamous king of England in the early 1500s. During his nearly 4 decades in power, he married six times. His efforts to leave his first marriage led to the separation of the Church of England from papal authority. Many people probably are familiar with the story of Henry VIII. However, you may not know the story of his six wives.
The musical focuses on the story of these six queens as they tell their difficult experiences with Henry VIII. The queens compete for who had the roughest experience in being married to the king. The queens discuss divorce, rejections, adultery, and even beheadings in a way that keeps you laughing while also touching your heart. They even place a relatable twist on the story by incorporating a dating app through a parody.
Eventually, they realize that battling over who had the worst time with Henry VIII is not helpful. They eventually decide to think about how Henry VIII took their individuality. They’re not just the six wives of a terrible king - they have their individual strengths that deserve celebrating. The ex-wives eventually come together to write new endings to their lives. They achieve their “happily ever afters” that Henry VIII denied them by dreaming of what their lives could have been like without seeing Henry VIII.
