He has a Netflix special called “Easter Sunday” which received a lot of recognition and helped him get even more fans. He is currently touring the country performing for fans everywhere. Jo Koy started out as a barista in a coffee shop in Las Vegas. However, that was a long time ago. Today, the Filipino-American comedian has a show on Comedy Central, and he has had multiple specials on Netflix that have broken viewership records. He draws from his life as a son, a father, and a Filipino man, pulling from his culture and experiences to relate to people from all walks of life around the globe. Jo Koy gives his audience the ultimate in comedy experience as he shares his own personal life stories from growing up as a Filipino-American to experiences from his life as a father and even experiences as a son as he often says, “all the love he has for his mother”. In 2024, Jo Koy produced and starred in his first film, Easter Sunday, a drama film that follows a son and his mother’s separate journeys as they both try to find their way back to each other. Along the way, the two learn more about each other and the culture of the Filipino-American community. The film brings to life many untold stories from the culture and showcases Koy’s humor while also touching the hearts of viewers. Even between comedy shows, Jo Koy is quite busy. He has a regular podcast “The Koy Pond with Jo Koy” in which he talks to well-known guests every now and then.
