With a BA in Physics from Harvard and a PhD in Astrophysics from Columbia, astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson is the Frederick P. Rose Director of the Hayden Planetarium at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City. Professionally he has published research papers on star formation, exploding stars, dwarf galaxies, and the structure of the Milky Way Galaxy.
As a world-famous presenter and TV personality, he is the host of the Emmy-nominated radio and TV show StarTalk, and the reboot of Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey. He is the author of several best-selling books, including Astrophysics for People in a Hurry and Letters from an Astrophysicist.
Neil's shows are typically one-man presentations, mixing up a lot of high-powered science and humor into a lecture style show, with slick multimedia backgrounds. Occasionally he will bring on surprise guests, but normally you just get Neil's huge personality that literally fills the theater!
